Hello 7th Grade!!
We are wrapping up Module 8, and a test is planned for this upcoming Friday, March 8.
Here's the test outline:
It will be 10 questions, worth 2 points each, for 20 points total.
Lastly, as always, you will have the reflection questions as homework worth 6 points.
The best way to study for this is the Module 8 Ready to Go On? page which is in your binder and available online at my.HRW.com. It will also be assigned to you on my.HRW.com as a study guide on Wednesday. You can also practice on Freckle.com. The test is aligned to Freckle Geometry levels 26-28.
As of today, you should be able to do the Ready to Go On? page 259 #1-6. We will be studying problem 7 this week, on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you want to meet to study together before the test!
Hello 7th Grade!
I apologize for the long break between posts here.
We extended the Module 6 Test date to Thursday, December 6 to accommodate for the snow day and other missed class times. Please complete the Module 6 study plan on Google Classroom! Your practice test PMT on my HRW is also available to you now. You should currently be able to complete problems 1-5 & 12-19. Problems 6-11 and 20 will be based on Monday and Tuesday's work in class. In particular, please look at simplifying algebraic expressions from 6.1, like problems 12-15.
There will be a working lunch date on Tuesday, December 4 in my classroom to answer specific questions and have a study session with your peers.
I also expect that you will be working in Freckle on Expressions and Equations outside of class. Go to Freckle, click "Math," then "Expressions & Equations." Continue to practice and level up as much as you can. This will review 6th grade work and our current work together. This test will cover through Level 15.
Any Freckle assignments in your assignment feed are overdue! Please complete and turn in as soon as you can. Similarly, on my.HRW.com, the only assignment which should be in your dashboard is the Module 6 Practice Test. The rest are overdue!
After this week, starting on December 10, we will resume using our binders daily in class! Please make sure you have a binder, and it is at school! If you went without a binder in the first trimester, please get one as soon as you can. If you cannot get a binder, let me know because I do have some available.
Have a great rest of your weekend and I look forward to seeing you all Monday!
Hello 7th grade students & families!
I have been looking through the Module 3 tests and problem solving pages completed by students on Friday. So far, the results are showing that we are not ready to move on to new material. Therefore, students will be receiving their tests back with feedback to continue to work on and revise before grading officially.
We will look at particular questions of concern on Monday, and do a bit of reteaching. Please continue to study and practice this material at home. The study guide is still the best resource for this, but if you would like additional practice, the PMT from each section is available, too. From the student edition online at my.HRW.com, click the green box in the corner of the guided practice section of the lesson you are struggling with most.
Please keep studying! The study guide is attached here and is also available on the Resources tab, and of course you have your notes from Thursday, too.
You can learn this! We can do this! It just hasn't happened... YET. Let's stay focused, work hard, and prove that we can master this material!
See you all Tuesday- No school Monday!!
Hello 7th Grade!
We already have another week behind us! Please click above to complete your weekly reflection. Be sure to update your Grades Log in your binder, also. This week, we started Module 3 with rational numbers and covered addition. Next week, we will study subtraction and multiplication of rational numbers. The following week, we will study division, review, and plan on having the Module 3 assessment October 5th.
Come out tonight to the KG Movie Night showing of Avengers: Infinity War! Admission is free and concessions will be sold. Math Team is starting this Monday after school in my classroom until 4:00. Please come out to this informational meeting to see what it is all about!
Lastly, midterm is one week from today, on September 28th. If you would like to improve your grade by retaking a module test or completing missing assignments, please do so as soon as possible. Complete the below "Request to Retest" for any module assessment retakes. I think we now can perform much better on adding integers, so you may wish to revisit your module 1 test see how much you have learned! I will always take the higher of the scores on any retakes.
Any questions at all, especially grades questions, please feel free to ask. Thanks for another amazing week!
I have now input all grades! The grade you see in Parent Connect is fully up-to-date. Any zero's or blank spaces means I am missing something. Many of you will have the Module 2 Reflection or Module 2 Problem Solving (or both) returned to you on Monday to re-do or adjust and turn back in for a grade.
Overall, the Module 2 test results were great! I am so glad to see that we clearly studied hard! Of course, you can retake any module test using the Google form below this post.
Monday, we will be starting Module 3: Rational Numbers. This is where decimals and fractions will return, with positive and negative signs as well. We will be in Module 3 for at least the rest of the month. A very tentative date for the Module 3 test is October 5th, but it may be one week later. It will absolutely not be any earlier than October 5th.
The Module 2 reflection questions are due Monday, September 17th. They are listed on each class page. Some students in periods 1 & 3 are saying it isn't loading on their page. Try the class page for periods 4 & 7 or 8 & 9. It is the same document for all. You may type them into a Google doc and share it with me or write on paper and turn it in on Monday. Remember to attach your work from the activity itself to your responses.
Thanks! Hope you are all having a great weekend! I look forward to seeing you on Monday!
